I am a life-long learner who like to keep my mind busy.  As such, I have delved into many different hobbies over the years.  When I adopted my son I became obsessed with memory keeping/scrap-booking as a way of chronicling our life together.  Of course, the photos being the key element of every layout that was created.  This was my introduction to photography.   Although, at this point, I was only taking 'snapshots' with my point-and-shoot camera and using staying on 'auto' mode because I couldn't shoot a decent picture otherwise.
When my son became too old (and too cool) to be bothered with lame-old-Dad and his camera I put it away and felt a great void in my life.  I assumed the void was solely because I missed my son.  After a couple of years, I picked it up and began shooting again.
Because I'm the type of guy who gets very frustrated if/when I don't know how to do something I about lost my mind every time I took a shot in manual mode and saw the resulting photo that was like looking through eye glasses covered in doughnut glaze.  I then began to approach this hobby as I had most things of interest in my life--I became obsessed in learning more.  I'm always reading anything and everything on the subject and watching hour after hour of YouTube videos.  I also love perusing the work of others hoping that I can one day come close to creating the true art that they create.  The stunning images they create with their eye and camera is often astonishing to me.  I continue to practice, practice and then practice some more.
The work you see here are the results--correction--the output of my continuing journey along this path toward, one day, becoming a "photographer".  I don't think I would every want to become a paid photographer but, I certainly would like to produce work that I can be proud of and hopefully be appreciated by others.  I especially hope to begin to create images that can evoke feeling in the body and mind of the viewer or capture those special images that seem to convey an entire story of the subject caught in that brief moment of time.
Perhaps, you were brought here to my site because you kindly agreed to be subject in one my photos and I want you to know that I am very grateful that you allowed me to capture your image and that you have helped me on my journey to one day being a
Photo Artist
